Mrs. Spainhour has taught at UNC Charlotte
since 1998. She currently teaches undergraduate
courses in the Journalism minor, including News
Writing, Feature Writing, and Introduction to
Journalism. She has also taught public speaking
at UNC and several other academic institutions
in the Charlotte area. Previously, she worked
as a newspaper journalist and she has also freelanced
for various publications. She chairs the Journalism
Curriculum Committee and oversees the Journalism
Advisory Council. She is a member of the Association
for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
