Brycie Baber Forensics
Scholarship
Award: The Brycie Baber Scholarship
is a renewable $2500 a year scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: Preference
will be given to entering freshmen with a talent in
forensics and for entering freshmen with a financial
need who are interested in pursuing intercollegiate
forensics. Students who make a demonstrable contribution
to the forensics team and who remain in good academic
standing are eligible to receive the award for four
consecutive years.
Application Requirements: Application,
three letters of reference, transcript. For students
applying on the basis of financial need further documentation
may be necessary.
Rebecca and Walter
Roberts Scholarships
The Rebecca and Walter Roberts Scholarships were established
in 1999 to honor Walter and Rebecca Roberts. The education
of Rebecca Roberts, a 1998 UNCC graduate, and the other
children of Walter Roberts was ensured by a trust fund
established by the Superior Continental Corporation
following Walter Roberts' death. The remaining monies
in the trust were generously donated to the University
upon Rebecca Roberts' graduation. The purpose of the
Roberts Scholarships is to provide scholarship assistance
to worthy non-traditional students pursuing a degree
in Communication Studies. The Roberts Scholarships are
awarded to applicants on the basis of their potential
for success as Communication Studies majors.
Award: Scholarship for use in freshman,
sophomore, junior or senior year. Renewable award of
up to $3950 a year.
Eligibility Requirements: Preference
will be given to a non-traditional, full or part-time
student who is either a declared major or in the process
of becoming a major in Communication Studies.

Joe S. Epley Scholarship
Award: The Joe S. Epley Scholarship is a monetary scholarship in the amount of $2,000 awarded to two junior or senior level students who are working towards earning a Communication Studies degree with a concentration in Public Relations. Preference will be given to those students interested in the study of international public relations. The Epley Scholarship has been endowed by the Joe S. Epley Scholarship Foundation, which supports exceptional students who have chosen public relations as the field of their professional careers. Mr. Epley, APR, Fellow PRSA, is the retired founder and CEO of Epley Associates/Public Relations, a past president of the Public Relations Society of America, and a founding partner of WorldCom, a global consortium of independent public relations firms.
Eligibility Requirements: Recipients of the Epley Scholarship must be a junior or senior level student with an overall GPA of at least 3.2 and majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations. Preference will be given to students who are pursuing the Undergraduate Certificate in International Public Relations.
